Nah these only have runs of just over a metre in length. Ideal for model cars, but I guess not so industrious

Luckily i only live near Haywards Heath. (not many people have said that, in the past).
They are allowing the DP mini, relaxing the price limit on saloons and allowing brushless hot rods, with lipo cell. There is a regular turn out of 50+ drivers every other week, and very little bitching about the rules, if any.

So with the costs of travelling going up, all the moaning about cars that may be legal one week, and not the next. why in the hell would i be interested in doing nationals.

Ours are a copy of Basildons as well.
They seem to work fine by using Basildons set as a template for their own. These aren't rules by committee and there are no agms, just clubs agreeing with each other on what s allowed. Excellent Turnouts support this as your car is legal everywhere.

Can I just add that, although I agree that personal stuff should be kept off here, it isn't always that easy when the racing and clubs are being ruined by certain peoples actions.
It is extremely frustrating to see young 1/12th racers being pushed out and forced to stop racing because of this. I am writing this from personal experience.

Anyway, lets forget about the childish comments and get back to saying well done pinky.

Re the esc budget ... I thought there was a cap of £65 at the mo ??

Is there a benefit to running a £200 esc over the just stock £38 version ?? No,(at least when we're choosing 13.5t motors that mean 65amp esc will be sufficient) so why will people run them ?

I was not talking about the current 'oval' rules.
The £200+ speedo is what you can run with the current GT12 rules.
I was just saying if we go with the GT12 rules and re-use them I doubt they would get voted in at our AGM.

I agree ! So, bring the esc cost limit lower and introduce a control motor and you create the same boundary the current series has.... It will get passed.

Personally, drop the Blinky until everyone's on BL then the two can race ... Just state no timing on the fly Can be used ... Basically the Stock factory setup of most esc on the market !! It's easier to manage that than the rotor

If your adding what has broken, don't forget to add which class.
At least then you can workout whether it's going to be a common problem.

Everything breaks, it's just a question of how the impact broke it.

Indeed they did! Congratulations to Al Quarman the Southern general on his testimonial Civil war, and to his army who put on an excellent show today.

I'd like to thank all the divers who came down and raced for the Northern army as well. It was our best result for a long time and we actually had the lead for a while :)

South 758

North 537

It's good to see the scores a lot closer than they have been, as it makes for a great atmosphere!

Who knows what the scores will be next year? Bring it on !

In the nicest possible way - hope your wrong too! Here's hoping we do get some demand, would love to see Kamtec produce a body shell for it! There is a little interest at the moment, mainly from people currently participating in other forms of RC, or with an interest as a NASCAR fan. The problem was always going to be, which I was aware of and many people have picked up on, is that we are already saturated with different formulas at race meetings, with if you want a non-contact formula, there is already an outlet for that in hotrod racing. Not that the idea has died a death, just it maybe changing angle slightly :)

test car was always the approach that I was going to take. And before you all respond, this is a ruling that we use at Hots where some of us run multiple cars but only score points with the one that complies the HOTs rules. Very much along the lines of BL last season before we had voted it in for this season.

This is along the lines of general rule 10 for our section.

Mardave V12 for breaking purposes , doesn't have to include electrics, but needs to include all other running gear, to be put in a project car. Looked on ebay, but they appear too good to just break up at the moment.

Keith,

I dont see calling an EGM and changing the rules as a good first step. Lets try the car first, if its much quicker than the mardave we may not want to include it in the hot rod class - it will force eveyone to spend money on one to stay competetive.......not something we want to do in these austere times!

Ever thought of standing for the BRCA?????? :-)) :-))

I will never stand for the BRCA, in fact if anyone wants my job at HOT's just let me know and it's theirs :P

Just one thing I want to make clear - I really like one-make racing in some ways you just cannot beat everyone having the same cars/chassis. You know that if you're not going well it is probably down to you.

So for National level I'm not sure we should bring in this car but I guess the AGM will sort that out one way or the other.

However for club racing we @ Wycombe cannot afford to turn people away and now 3 different (new) people have asked about the Superstox running on our oval.

So what to do..I think this idea is the most pragmatic as it will not ruin the great racing we have already in the Rod class at Wycombe yet attract those wanting to run the other cars.

Note - the Mardave GRP based cars would be allowed to run too not just the Schumacher. I'm tempted with a carbon fibre one of those with an alloy pod to be honest!

raced this weekend at HOT's

saturday night showed an awesome turnout
20 hotrods
16 stockrods
15 ministox
16 saloonstox

67 cars in total for a sat night!!! I personally poled and won the saloon A Final which was very heavy contact wise :)

Keith smith poled and won the hotrods with simon cleaver 2nd with a brushless lipo car

Stephen Jones poled and won the stockrods 1st time out with the car closely followed by Bernie Hook

Martin watts poled on a tie break from rob kerr and won the Ministox closely followed by Bernie Hook.

Tom Massey Poled and won the saloons with Bernie Hook chasing all night

Sunday saw another good turnout at hots
26 bangers
7 Stockcars
12 Brisca Drift

Bangers was poled by Tom Massey with bernie hook and paul sansom hot on his heels. The Final was won by Bernie Hook with Adam ambrose on the same lap and Tom Massey 4 laps down after losing a front wheel mid race.

Stockcars was poled by Bernie Hook and fought all day with the close chasing Scott Hook. Oliver and paul sansom tie breaked for 3rd and 4th. The final was won by Bernie Hook just one lap from Scott Hook

Brisca Drift was poled by Ben denyer with a close fighting scott hook and non-member Danny Bodle. Danny Bodle won the final a lap infront of Ben Denyer who was a lap infront of Scott Hook. Closest racing i've seen.

in other words, Epic weekend!!!

raced at 950 grams last night in the BL rod and to be honest it made no real difference.

If anything it lowered the C of G and made the car quicker, which was not really the intended outcome!!!

Personally I wouldnt bother with Min weight, but either way its not an issue as far as I am concerned.
